I have finished my viewblog CGI. It is a much better way to present data than just having the HTML page. I am very proud of the state of the code which runs under the strictest Perl rules.
The information about each page is dynamically generated by the stat() function in Perl, which retrieves the information about the file currently being viewed.
In other news, a group of Australian soldiers are being questioned over an incident where some Kittens where doused in petrol and set on fire. This is obviously the most disgusting conduct I have ever heard of and I hope the soldiers involved are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I would put them into the worst Thai prisons and tell the other Inmates the new arrivals were rock spiders, then they would be horribly tortured, as it is all they deserve.
Why do these things happen in this day and age. I thought we had evolved beyond this point. Apparently some feral minorities are still alive and well in this world. About time for some cleansing.

The Athens Olympics crisis continues with no sign of the structures being completed in time for the Olympic games in less than 100 days.
I do not believe it is possible for them to get anything ready without international assistance, but they should not have needed it, Sydney got ready for the games in plenty of time, I think the Greek authorities in charge of the preparation are just incompetent and stupid that they cannot get their stadium ready for such an important event.
I think they should take the games off Greece and give them to the Australians, as they already have a stadium for the events. And not a crappy heap of rubble and construction work. Not to forget frequent terrorist bombings and the proximity of Greece to terrorist hotspots, such as Saudi Arabia. Why does this happen in this day and age?
In other news, the Teenage coder behind the most recent worldwide Sasser virus has been caught and will undoubtedly face a heavy fine. But they really should be asking Microsoft some questions as well about how easy it is to write viruses for Windows that you can download do it yourself software that uses wizards to enable any script kiddie to write his/her own viruses in VBScript. The time span between detection of viruses and infection of computers is shrinking every time. If it continues this way, with M$ software what will the future hold.
I am lucky I am running Debian as I do not have to worry about the sort of viruses that affect WinBlows suXPoo computers. I do not even have a virus scanner installed as Debian should not need one. All of the virus writers are targeting Windows because it is such an easy target. But I would never use such shit software on my Machine, the bloated code that MicroShit use just makes it worse because the system requirements make the requirements much higher than an equivalent desktop enviroment in Linux/KDE3.2. If only the source code for the afforementioned virus was available, I would not mind having a look at the source code myself just for interests sake. I bet he has more programming skill than 10 Microsoft programmers.
